Ant Mills I
Here, stopping means something else starting, or speaking in a language no one understands. A million ants march from side to side, swift and small, and sometimes slow down. When light sweeps in to clear the house, they take off in total darkness. Time sighs, clusters of cargo break form, the lonely shepherd beats his crook against the haystack saying Stop, sleep immediately and next.

Ant Mills II
All afternoon the circle revolves. There’s one hour during heavy rain when the column weakens and almost disappears, but when the sun returns the lines rejoin and the blind grip of instinct holds them. Long is their path, so long must they wander, without the promise of sanctuary or goal. Starting means stopping through sun and cloud, day and night, hour after hour, until finally dust— nothing is sacred. No nothing is new without something else ending.
